Falck to protect Scottish airports

Press release -

Falck to protect Scottish airports

Today, Falck Fire Services adds two flagship Scottish airports to its existing Emergency Response business in the UK. Globally Falck is the world’s leading provider of high-quality aviation Rescue and Fire Fighting services and the strong British presence and vast experience within airport firefighting makes Falck a natural choice to partner the airports in both Aberdeen and Glasgow.

“This is excellent news and we are delighted to enter into partnership with Glasgow and Aberdeen International airports, having been selected to deliver their rescue and fire fighting services for the future.” says Robert Peasgood,Managing Director of Falck Fire Services UK.

“There is a strong and successful pedigree of the highest standards at both airports which blends perfectly into our extensive experience of delivering fire and medical services to the highest standards. We look forward to working alongside the teams at Glasgow and Aberdeen airports to deliver their long-term business strategy.”

Remain competitive
The airport marketplace in the UK is extremely competitive and the Executive Management teams at both airports have undertaken detailed analysis to determine the best long-term sustainable business model to ensure they further increase their competitive positions. Engaging market leading, professional service delivery companies to partner with forms a core part of these strategic plans.

“In this extremely challenging marketplace we need to remain competitive to ensure we continue delivering the highest quality of services that our customers have come to expect from us. Our safety record is outstanding and partnering with Falck for our Fire and Rescue services will not only ensure this level is maintained, but also brings wider opportunity for our fire service staff with a dedicated fire and medical services provider as they look to the future,” says Derek Provan, Chief Executive of AGS Airports which owns and manages Aberdeen and Glasgow airports.

Falck will begin service delivery at both sites today, 17th December, and will transfer over the existing airport fire service employees as part of the contract commencement.

“We look forward to welcoming the existing staff into the Falck family, where we have domestic fire and medical services in the aviation and petrochemical sectors and offer employees a broad array of further opportunities based both at home and all around the globe,” says Robert Peasgood.
