Falck secures two public fire contracts in Denmark

With effect from 1 January 2021, Falck has been awarded the fire contracts with Trekantområdets Fire Brigade and ETK Fire and Rescue.

The contract with Trekantområdets Fire Brigade covers 9 stations and is a continuation of a long partnership dating all the way back to 1927, when Falck was awarded the first contract in the area.

“We have a long history of collaboration with Trekantområdets fire brigade both before and after the amalgamation of the municipal emergency services. There has been a good and constructive dialogue during the negotiations, and we are really pleased that Falck will continue to provide fire services in the area, and that we can maintain our historically long cooperation,” says fire director Max Andersen.

The fire and rescue services in Køge Municipality will also be handled by Falck in the future. ETK Fire and Rescue has stated that a decision has been made to continue the collaboration with Falck when the current contract expires.

With the new agreement, Falck will continue to staff the two stations in the area, and provide personnel specially trained for boats, altitude rescue and divers as part of the 24-hour emergency response. The contract will require 50+ firefighters divided into full-time and part-time.

“Firefighting has always been one of the cornerstones of Falck. Therefore, we are very happy to continue our close cooperation with ETK Fire and Rescue. ETK Fire and Rescue has a very professional approach to the entire emergency response area and I am sure that we can continue a successful collaboration,” says fire director Max Andersen.
