Falck to fight fires in Portugal
Falck has gained the responsibility of providing firefighting in Portugal’s busiest airport in Lisbon.
Falck Fire Services has won a major firefighting contract in Portugal. From the beginning of January 2015, it is Falck’s responsibility to provide firefighting and fire prevention at Lisbon International Airport - the busiest of Portugal’s 8 airports.
“We are very pleased that ANA (Aeropuertos de Portugal) has selected Falck to deliver this high-quality service, and look forward to our mutual, long-term cooperation”, says Hans Jensen, Executive Vice President.
The contract, which comes into force in less than three months, will last for 8 years, expiring at the end of 2022, with the possibility of an additional 8 years, which would extend the contract until and through 2030.
Recently, Falck hired a management team in Portugal. They are currently working towards hiring and training 65 firefighters for the job.
In 2013, more than 16 million people travelled through Lisbon International Airport, which is 50 percent of the airport traffic in the whole of Portugal.
