Falck Industrial Fire Services secures its leading position in Spain
Falck Industrial Fire Services (IFS) has recently won two contracts within the nuclear and automotive industries in Spain, thereby cementing its position within industrial fire and rescue services in Spain.
IFS has been present in Spain since 1990, where the first contract was signed with ANAV, who operates the two nuclear power plants Vandellós II and Ascó in the province of Tarragona. This contract, which comprises firefighting and training as well as supply of vehicles and other equipment, has recently been put out to tender. Falck won the tender, securing extension of the current contract through 2020.
In addition to the contract with ANAV, IFS in Spain has recently won a contract with the large Seat plant in Barcelona. This contract will run for 3 years from 1 October 2018. Within the Spanish automotive industry, IFS already has a contract with Daimler-Mercedes.
Stig Tiedemann, Head of Falck Industrial Fire Services, says:
“These two contracts are important milestones for Falck Industrial Fire Services in Spain. The nuclear industry is a high-risk industry, where fire prevention and protection is even more critical than in most other industries. Falck is now the leader in providing fire services for this industry in Spain, Belgium, Germany and Sweden, and the nuclear industry is a major pillar for the growth of our business. As to the automotive industry, Spain has the second largest production in Europe, and we are very content to have won yet another contract in this important industry.”
