Falck expands within emergency services in Finland
As of today, Falck is the majority shareholder in one of the two largest emergency providers in the Finnish market.
Falck entered the market in 2013 and is currently responsible for emergency services in one of the 21 Health Care districts. With the acquisition of 9Lives, who operate in six districts, Falcks geographical footprint in the finish market is strengthened considerably.

We see great possibilities in the Finnish market, and we regard this transaction as the next important step towards expanding our activities in the country,” says Falck EVP Poul Mortensen.
In the future, the existing Falck-operation will be managed by 9Lives. The 9Lives company will initially continue to operate under its current brand name, 9lives. Markus Ulfstedt, 9Lives CEO, is equally delighted by Falcks involvement in the company.
“For us, having the Falck Group as a shareholder means that we become a part of the global emergency services network. Also, Falcks mission to serve and help people in distress is very well in line with our own mission,” says Markus Ulfstedt.
9Lives was renamed in 2012 (Formerly HES) and currently provides ambulance services to more than a third of the Finnish people. The company has a fleet of 61 ambulances and consists of 300 employees and provides approximately 100.000 transports on a yearly basis.
